Visual trigonometry and triangle calculator

Solve triangles from sides and angles with the laws of sines/cosines, Pythagoras and ambiguous SSA cases. Visualize the triangle and convert degrees/radians.

Solve triangles without choosing in advance between the Pythagorean theorem, the law of sines or the law of cosines. General mode automatically detects SSS, SAS, ASA/AAS or SSA and keeps every valid solution. Each solution includes derived measurements and a proportional SVG drawing.

Input data

Convention: a ↔ A, b ↔ B, c ↔ C. Each side is opposite the angle with the same letter.

All three modes, derived measures and the proportional SVG are active.

Result and visualization

Enter the values and press “Solve / check” to draw the proportional triangle.

What the calculator solves

In general-triangle mode, enter three independent values with at least one side. The calculator determines whether the case is SSS, SAS, ASA/AAS or SSA. An ambiguous SSA case is never discarded: if two mathematically valid triangles exist, both are shown.

Right-triangle mode uses the Pythagorean theorem and trigonometric ratios with a fixed convention: c is the hypotenuse and C = 90°. Angle mode converts degrees and radians, normalizes full turns, and calculates sine, cosine and tangent.

Available results

  • All solved sides and angles without intermediate rounding.
  • Area, perimeter, semiperimeter, heights, inradius and circumradius.
  • Proportional SVG with side/angle labels and a right-angle marker when applicable.
  • sin/cos/tan ratios for A, B and C, including undefined-tangent handling.
  • A selector for both solutions when the ambiguous SSA case occurs.
  • Copyable summary/table, CSV with one or two solutions, and printing of the current result.
