What is the difference between exclusive and inclusive day counts?
The exclusive count subtracts the start date from the end date without including either boundary. The inclusive count adds one day whenever there is at least a 24-hour gap, useful to answer how many calendar days the interval spans.
How does the calculator treat weekdays and weekends?
Business days include Monday through Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are tallied separately so you can see how much of the interval falls on weekends. Public holidays are not included in this version.
Does it account for leap years and uneven months?
Yes. The calculation follows the real Gregorian calendar: February gains a 29th day on leap years and each month keeps its exact length, so the breakdown into years, months, and days stays aligned with the calendar.
Can I use the result for legal deadlines or project planning?
It is a quick reference. For payroll, compliance, or schedules sensitive to time zones, always confirm whether the rule requires inclusive or exclusive counting and verify holidays in your jurisdiction.
