What input formats are supported?

For octal we allow digits 0–7 with an optional 0o prefix, spaces, or underscores. In hex mode we accept 0–9 and A–F/a–f with an optional 0x prefix.

How do you bridge octal and hex?

We normalize the source, expand it to decimal with powers of its base, and divide by the target base to build the result. Normalized binary (3-bit or 4-bit groups) is shown to double-check.

Can I work with large numbers?

Yes. Calculations rely on BigInt so long values keep their precision. The interface keeps the binary view aligned to help you validate the conversion.

How to convert octal to hexadecimal

We move from base 8 to base 16 through a decimal bridge. Multiply each octal digit by 8^position, add them up, then divide the decimal value by 16 collecting remainders. Grouped binary (3 or 4 bits) helps you validate visually.

Normalize. Remove 0o/0O prefixes, spaces or underscores. Only digits 0-7 are valid.
Go to decimal. Multiply each column by its power of 8 and sum all partials.
Divide by 16. Store the remainders (0-9, A-F) until the quotient is 0; reverse them to form the hex number.
Check in binary. Group bits in 3s (octal) or 4s (hex) to verify equivalences.
